Popular Education Network (PEN) Scotland was set up in 2015 to develop and support communities and activists around Scotland to self-educate based on principles of popular education.

We organise and co-organise our own events, sessions and workshops, in person and online, to help understand, educate and empower.

Our members help set the direction and activity of PEN, elect the coordinating committee, and are entitled to discounts on events we organise.

PEN Scotland is a non-profit organisation, run and organised entirely by volunteers. Most of our events are free. For those events we do charge for, where possible we aim to subside and reduce barriers to access. We run entirely on the goodwill and generosity of our supporters.
